The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is now accepting research grant applications from researchers proposing to conduct studies that would be relevant to the GASB’s standard-setting activities. For nearly 40 years, such research efforts have resulted in publishing their research in peer-reviewed journal articles, GASB research briefs, and GASB research reports.
Grants are more likely to be awarded to research proposals that contribute to the standard-setting process; however, applicants are encouraged to propose research on any topic they believe would be useful and relevant to the GASB. For more information on the grant program, including current topics of interest, past award topics, and the application and award process, click here to see the 2024 Request for Research.
The GASB hopes to encourage more collaborative research efforts with academics by offering one or two research grants of up to $10,000, to be awarded by the end of June 2024. The deadline for proposals is May 31, 2024.
